MEET LAUREN

Lauren Roze (she/ her) is a certified yoga instructor, and mental health coach specializing in recovery from low self-esteem, disordered eating, addiction, depression & anxiety. Her offerings include online group classes, workshops & private coaching. Programs are structured around the 7 Chakras using yoga (asana, meditation, breathwork, philosophy, and self-study), and 10+ years of personal recovery experience. Classes incorporate a variety of movement practices, and range from strength-based to restorative, all with a focus on balancing the nervous system through breath, movement and meditation. It is her priority to create a safe, healing and inclusive environment for all bodies.

A Little About Me

I am from Los Angeles and have been living on the beautiful island of Bali since 2019. It is here that I came home to myself and found a sense of purpose. To arrive here, I have walked through major family losses, trauma, and recovery from addiction and disordered eating. Upon leaving what many would consider a dream job at a large corporation in the entertainment industry, I found that moving to an island was not the instant cure I had hoped it would be. Most people living here can attest to the confronting way in which our areas of growth are often presented to us (something about “bali magic”...). After much personal work within the bounds of a well-rounded yoga practice (not just the physical asana), I was able to uproot and process old pain, and come to a place of feeling “recovered”. In the path of the Chakras, once our roots are deep and provide a sense of stability, we can move into higher connection & serving the community. Naturally, my next intuitive step was to share my journey of recovery with others. I would not call this the easiest path. It is a path of depth and courage, which includes being present for feelings, challenges, joys, pleasures, learning and unlearning. I would also absolutely refuse to trade it for anything. My goal is not to place those I work with on the same path as me, but to help them to feel empowered to discover their own path.

Accessibility & Social Justice

Under the idea that change begins with one person, Lauren’s vision is to help individuals heal, lead more meaningful lives, and therefore be in a better position to help others, the community and the world. She is passionate about social justice, and aims to contribute to this cause through continued education (most specifically around body inclusivity and anti-racism), reparations to oppressed communities, and her work in group and private sessions. Lauren’s approach is aligned with HAES (Health at Every Size) and Intuitive Eating principles. Classes are inclusive to all races, genders, body sizes, and most ability levels. Pricing options range to maintain accessibility to folks of different income levels.
